Girolamo Russo

The winery Girolamo Russo was founded around the second half of the 20th century thanks to Mr. Girolamo who started producing wine and olive oil. Since 2003, Giuseppe, his son has taken over the family farm proud of continuing that tradition with interest and enthusiasm, providing the family farm with modern technologies. The winery is located in the beautiful territory of the Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. The vineyard extends for 40 acres in the north side of Etna, located in three different districts: San Lorenzo, Feudo and Feudo di Mezzo around the Castiglione di Sicilia area. Each vine is between 50 and 100 years old, located 2000 feet above the sea level. The rich, volcanic, sandy soil and a unique microclimate with large changes in temperature between day and night create extraordinary wines that only Etna can give.
