Venegazzu/Loredan Gasparini

The Wine:Capo di Stato (which means President) was created by Count Loredan Gasparini to celebrate the official events of Venice and received the appreciation of people from all over the world. It owes its name to the former French President, Charles Degaulle, who enjoyed it particularly and to whom it was dedicated. An amazing Bordeaux blend, expressed by a perfect combination of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec, it is produced with grapes coming from the fifty-year-old vineyard called “cento piante” where the soil rich in iron and minerals determines its structure and long life. The harvest takes place at the beginning of October and the handpicked grapes undergo the winemaking process and manual pressing in oak vats at partially controlled temperature with fully completed malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 48 months: most of it in large barrels and a small portion in small French oak barriques. It is then refined in bottle for 12 additional months before being placed on the market. It is worth to be mentioned that the Capo di Stato has been listed by a French publication entitled “100 Vins de Légende” among the one hundred best wines in the world that for their history and top quality can be unanimously considered as legendary.

Tasting Notes:Deep ruby red, the Capo di Stato is one of the most renowned Italian wines and as such it shows a very elegant and complex structure. The nose introduces aromas of very ripe fruit, such as blackberry and black currant, toasted hazelnuts and dried rose petals – all blended together with hints of dewy musk and sweet spices. Full-bodied, chewy, with layers of massive tannins, clean and well balanced, this wine shows a silky texture on the very long finish with a soft little touch of liquorice. A perfect match for grilled meats, wild game, flavorful pastas or risottos and most of the sophisticated creations of international cuisines.

The Wine:Venegazzù della Casa (which means “of the house”) is a very well balanced Bordeaux blend expression, made of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbech, where the soil rich in iron and minerals determines its powerful character. The harvest takes place between the end of September and beginning of October and the handpicked grapes undergo the winemaking process in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature for about 15 days. After the malolactic fermentation if fully completed, the wine ages for 48 months in oak barrels and is refined 6 months in bottle before being placed on the market.

Tasting Notes:Venegazzù della Casa is a deep ruby red that expresses its powerful elegance through aromas of overripe marasca cherries and a touch of cassis. The combination of oak undertones and spicy notes introduces a smooth and long lasting finish, with potent tannins and a very well rounded palate. A wine capable of ageing beautifully in bottle and the perfect match for game and roasts as well as savory pasta dishes.

The Wine:This wine takes the name after the Venegazzu Villa that was one called “Villa Spineda, named after the family that built the house. The word “Ca’” it’s an abbreviation of “Casa”. Ca’Spineda is made of 90% Prosecco and 10% Pinot Nero grapes carefully selected and hand-picked between the end of August and the beginning of September. The fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel containers for a period of 30-40 days. The wine then refines for about 10 days before being bottled.

Tasting Notes:Ca’Spineda has a light ruby red color. On the nose it expresses notes of cherries and red berries. Fresh and smooth on the palate, this wine is best suited for appetizers, fish, pasta with light sauces as well as an aperitif.

The Wine: This sparkling wine is the result of the vinification of the best grapes of Prosecco harvested by hand, featuring pleasantness and richness thanks to the mineral components of the Montello soil. This same richness in mineral allows keeping the sugar as low as 9 g/l. It is produced with cold maceration of the grapes and subsequent two-month fermentation in controlled temperature steel tanks. An attentive selection of the yeasts grants top quality vintage after vintage.

Tasting Notes: This Prosecco Brut shows a straw yellow color with light green hues. Marked aromas of yellow flowers and freshly mowed hay are the perfect introduction to a fresh yet very persistent palate. Hints of apple, yellow peach and pineapple alternate making this wine the ideal aperitif as well as the perfect match for seafood, savory horse d’oeuvre, vegetable soups and spiced main courses.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON –Montello e Colli Asolani

The Wine:This Cabernet Sauvignon shows all the pureness of its varietal maintaining, at the same time, the characteristics typical of the Montello area. After having been handpicked, the grapes are transferred into stainless steel tanks for the fermentation that lasts 14 days (4 of which on the lees). Part of the wine is then refined in oak barriques for a short period of time to best preserve its distinctive fruit and blended again with the original lot.
