QUIRICO

GRAPES: 100% AGLIANICO

The Wine: The Aglianico grapes are hand-picked from the Torre Le Nocelle vineyard situated approximately 1,000 feet above sea level beginning around October 10th.  The vinification process begins with the maceration on the skins for at least 30 days, depending on the vintage.  Alcoholic fermentation starts in stainless steel vats, and then the wine is moved into wood casks, varying in size from 5hl to 35hl, for at least two years.  Malolactic fermentation occurs in wood.  It is then refined in bottle for between three & six months before being released into the market.

Tasting Notes: Quirico is ruby red in color with floral notes and hints of spices, sage and citrus on the nose.  The palate is silky and fresh with a smooth and persistent finish.  It pairs well with roasts, game, pasta with savory sauces, and aged cheeses.

It is refined in bottle for additional 6-12 months before being released on the market.
