KRATOS

GRAPES: 100% FIANO

The Wine: This wine is made of 100% Fiano grapes that have been carefully selected and hand-picked during harvest, which takes place around the second week in September. The grapes undergo a very soft pressing. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for about 30 days. The wine rests for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and additional 6 months in bottle before being released on the market.

Tasting Notes: Kratos is a Greek word that means “power” and this wine expresses its own in a very tasteful and sophisticated way. It is characterized by a straw yellow color with golden highlights and a soft, fruity bouquet with scents of apricot. On the palate it is dry, full bodied and well structured, offering an elegant, silky, mineral finish. Its impressive longevity and ability to further develop even after 3-5 years result in a surprising complexity. A perfect match for antipasti as well as seafood platters and grilled white meat dishes.

CENITO

GRAPES: 100% AGLIANICO

The Wine: Cenito is made of 100% Aglianico grapes (an originally Greek variety that is best favored by volcanic soil) carefully selected and handpicked at the end of October from a small vineyard in Cenito. The maceration takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for 8-12 days with daily stirring. The wine ages for about 18 months in partly new French oak barriques before being bottled. It is then refined for an additional period of 2 years before being released on the market. The average production is of not more than 5,000 bottles per vintage.

Tasting Notes: The Cenito has a deep ruby red color. On the nose scents of tobacco and cocoa introduce a spicy palate with notes of blackberries, coffee and preserved fruit. This awesome wine is best suited for pasta dishes with savory sauces, roasted or braised lamb, game, beef bourguignon with wild mushrooms and aged cheeses.

PIETRAINCATENATA

Only the portion in barrique ages in wood for about 6 months with periodical battonage. The wine is then blend together and refined in bottle for at least 1 year before being released on the market.

Tasting Notes: Pietraincatenata, that literally means “chained rock”, is the name of the area where these Fiano grapes are grown and it refers to a large rock that, almost by a miracle, seems chained to the hill. This great wine has a straw yellow color with golden highlights. An ethereal nose characterized by floral scents introduces a persistent palate with hints of almond, dried apricot and exotic fruit. Silky, elegant and clean on the finish. An excellent choice for antipasti as well as light seafood platters and grilled white meat dishes.
