CHIANTI CLASSICO

 GRAPES: 95% SANGIOVESE, 5% CANAIOLO

                       
 The Wine: The "Castello" Wine that represents the philosophy of Castello di Lucignano: maintaining the use of regional, autochthonous grapes for the production of the traditional Chianti Classico. This wine is made with 95% Sangiovese and 5%Canaiolo.The vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature-controlled recycling of must during fermentation. The maceration lasts 15-20 days. The wine ages 9 months in oak barrels with a short passage in French barriques. It is then bottled and refines for a minimum of 3 months.

Tasting Notes: Castello di Lucignano Chianti Classico has a brilliant ruby red color. Its complex and expressive bouquet has an intensive aroma of red fruits, typical for a Sangiovese wine, complemented by a delicate vanilla note. Good structure, with soft tannins and well-balanced acid. Fresh, red fruits with cherry in the foreground and pleasant wood tones. Excellent pairs with roasted wild game and aged cheeses.

The Wine: The wine of the Castello, which reflects the elegance and unique characteristics of the Sangiovese grape best. This wine is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes. The vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature-controlled recycling of must during fermentation. The maceration lasts 18-20 days. The wine ages 20 months in oak barrels and 6 months in French barriques. Once bottled it refines for a minimum of 6 months.

Tasting Notes: Castello di Lucignano Chianti Classico Riserva has an intensive ruby red color. Elegant and distinct bouquet, with hints of ripe fruits, plum and sweet wood. The palate is very pleasant, with a good structure of smooth tannins. Well-balanced acidity, lasting through to a remarkable finish. Multi-faceted, with delightful aromas of fruit and toasted wood. An elegant wine to best enjoy with main courses such as roasted or grilled red meats and rich meat pasta sauces.
