BENEDÈ
GRAPES: 100% CATARRATTO
 

The Wine: This wine is made of 100% Catarratto grapes cultivated by this winery for many years. Although only grown in Sicily, this ancient white grape, whose name stands for abundance, is Italy's most cultivated white variety. A late harvest allows achieving the perfect balance between fragrances and acidity. After the soft pressing of the handpicked grapes, the fermentation is conducted in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature for a period of about 15 days. The wine is then refined for approximately 6 months in stainless steel tanks and 3 additional months in bottle before being placed on the market

Tasting Notes: Benedè is dedicated to “Benedetto” the son of one of the producers. An intense yellow straw color with greenish hues perfectly mirrors the sunny and lavish nature of the land where it belongs. The opening on the nose is fresh and consistent at the same time due to the combination of delicate notes of tropical fruit and bread crust. On the palate more freshness and a full persistent quality with a fully developed array of tropical fruit. A wine best suited for light hors d’oeuvres, seafood platters, fish soup or grilled vegetables and fresh cheeses. 

DONNATÁ

 GRAPES: 100% NERO D’AVOLA

 

The Wine: DonnaTá is made of 100% Nero d’Avola. The harvest takes place manually in the second ten days of September. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the fermentation is conducted in stainless steel vats at temperature controlled for a period of about 12 days. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for approximately 6 months and 3 additional months in bottle before being placed on the market.

Tasting Notes: DonnaTá stands for “Don Natale” which is the name of one of the producers of this elegant deep ruby red wine. A beautiful nose, loaded with fruit and spiced notes, perfectly develops in a smooth and rich palate with a long finish. The ideal match for elaborated game dishes, roasts, aged cheeses and pastas with flavorful sauces.

 
KAID
GRAPES:   100% SYRAH

                       

The Wine: This wine is made of 100% Syrah. The harvest takes place in September. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the fermentation is conducted in stainless steel tanks at temperature controlled for a period of about 12 days. It is then aged in oak barrels for approximately 12 months and 6 additional months in bottle before being placed on the market.

Tasting Notes: Kaid in Arabic means “chief” and all the power and complexity of this outstanding wine is introduced by its deep ruby red color with purple hues. Its nose is very composite with scents of berries and spices. The palate is smooth and lingering with red berries and black pepper notes. It is a wine very well suited for roasted and braised meats, stews, savory pastas and aged cheese. 

GRILLO VIGNA DI MANDRANOVA
GRAPES: 100% GRILLO
 

The Wine: This wine is made of 100% Grillo grapes. The harvest is made in the first ten days of September, gathering the grapes in small cases. The handpicked grapes are soft pressed in absence of oxygen. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature between 59°F and 64°F. The wine is then refined for approximately 6 months in stainless steel tanks.

Tasting Notes: Pale yellow in color with light green reflections. On the nose there are fresh notes of grapefruit, papaya, mango, and passion fruit well balanced with those of white peach and elderflower. The palate is strongly mineral, almost salty, evolves into a powerful finale, long and balanced sweet. Superb paired with fish dishes, such as seafood salad and spaghetti with clams, poultry and meat with citrus sauces. 

DONNATÁ

KAID PASSITO LATE HARVEST
GRAPES: 100% SYRAH
 

The Wine: Kaid Late Harvest is made of 100% Syrah. The grapes are naturally dehydrated longer on the vine and hand picked at the beginning of November. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the maceration takes place on temperature controlled stainless steel tanks for about 8 days. The wine is then aged in Allier oak barrels for approximately 15 months and 6 additional months in bottle before being placed on the market.

Tasting Notes: Kaid in Arabic means “chief”. Deep ruby red in color, this wine has scents of black cherry, dark chocolate, tobacco and black pepper. It is sweet and smooth on the palate. Kaid late harvest pairs well with any desserts especially with chocolate based desserts such as Sacher Torte or dark chocolate mousse.
